Occupy the Voting Booth!

January 24, 2012 Leave a comment

The Occupy movement isn’t getting the respect its predecessors earned (e.g., the Civil Rights movement) because it doesn’t have a unified message. There are so many things to complain about. Well, how about this: We are the 99% and we know we are never going to be the 1%. Half of the middle class still votes against their own best interest because they think they will some day be rich. People act like we’re a nation of temporarily embarrassed millionaries. The American Dream is a meritocracy where hard work gets you to happy. Happy is not the kind of aristocracy that buys legislatures and laws that game the system in your favor. Believing that making the rich richer will create jobs is drinking the Kool-Aid. Successful, hard-working people who make way into six figures are still in the 99%. We are being taken for a ride. Stop voting against your best interest. We are the 99% and we know we always will be. Vote accordingly.
